Today marks the start of Fairtrade Fortnight in Bristol, an annual event to raise awareness of how consumers can offer farmers and workers in developing countries a better chance to work their way out of poverty.
Millions of people in developing countries depend on farming, yet are trapped in poverty by the rules of world trade which keeps them powerless to earn enough to cover their costs and with nothing to save for their families.
Fairtrade Fortnight aims to change this through fairer wages, safer conditions at work and the 'Fairtrade premium' which is used to invest in projects to improve life for whole communities around the globe.
See how you can get involved with Fairtrade Fortnight events taking part in Bristol over the next two weeks.
